My Debut Album

I found the instructions on the net, so I can't claim anything here, but it was kind of fun! I might have to do another one!

  1. Go to a random Wikipedia entry:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Random
The first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
  2. Go to Random quotations:
    http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3
The last four words of the very last quote of the page is the title of your first album.
  3. Go to flickr's "explore the last seven days":
    http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7days/
Third picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
Put it all together, that's your debut album.

Here's what I came up with:

My first album: Xiaoshi Middle School - now what happens next?

Booze test (hic!)

It doesn't mean anything! I just happen to know a lot about alcohol for some reason... Really! Take it yourself!

I need another drink.

Song Charts

I will warn you now, if you are prone to earworms, do not continue to read this post. Turn back now. Last chance... Okay, don't say I didn't warn you.

There is a group pool on Flickr of Song Charts - charts created with song lyrics as the subject matter. For example:

Rick Astley would never

Terrible song, but that one cracks me up! Most of them are not terribly well designed. Some songs are not immediately obvious, but they're all pretty funny. I find myself listening to songs a little differently, scanning them for lyrics that would make good song charts. I'll let you know when I post my first. Go check em out, and add your own!

Frozen Grand Central

Pardon the YouTube, but this is just too cool. Makes me want to organize something like it here in KC.

xkcd - Duty Calls

One of my daily reads is the geek web comic xkcd. It's definitely geek humor, but then, I guess I'm a geek - I get most of the jokes. Yesterday's comic made it's way across the blogosphere so I figured I'd post is here too - it cracks me up!

Happy National National Awareness Month Awareness Month!

There's an awful lot we should be aware of these days. So much that sometimes it's hard to keep track. Which month is National Accordion Awareness Month? I can never remember. Oh yeah, it's June! The folks at easilyamused.org are here to help! They declared February National National Awareness Month Awareness Month!

Now you'll never have to wonder what color of ribbon to wear for National Hot Dog Month, or when to stock up on coffee for National Caffeine Awareness Month.
