High-capacity replacement iPod battery announced | MacMinute News

Excellent My second gen iPod is doing fine, I leave it plugged in as much as possible, even in the car with my iTrip and Monster power cable, and it seems to be keeping a charge just fine. But this is great news. I may just buy one to increase my iPod’s battery capacity, for $39.95, why not? And the inclusion of DIY tools is cool.

Newer Technology (NewerTech) and Other World Computing (OWC) today introduced a high-capacity replacement battery for all first- and second-generation iPods. The 2100mAh Lithium-Polymer (Li-Polymer) replacement battery is the highest capacity iPod battery on the market and provides 70 percent more capacity than Apple’s standard batteries, according to the two companies. The US$39.95 battery comes with two non-scratching installation tools and a detailed instruction manual.
